OMDE 670 Portfolio and Project in Distance Education and E-learning
This class was the most challenging class in the MDE
program. It was demanding on many different levels. The class tested my technical
abilities to create a distance education portfolio which can be used long after
my completion of the MDE program. My portfolio
will serve as a resource in my professional and personal life.
In addition, the accumulated skills learned in the
program such as evaluating scholarly resources, assessing distance learning
tools; hardware, software, and networks, measuring the economic cost of running
a distance education program, and identifying intellectual property and copy
right laws to name a few will benefit me professionally with future employers.
The capstone was a demanding process.I have never in my educational career created
a fifty page research paper that required extensive research, deep analysis, continuous
edits, and integration of ideas into a comprehensive product.
I took OMDE 670 in the summer of 2014 with Stella
Porto. I had a love and hate relationship with Stella. She
forced me to dig deeper academically than any other teachers. However, as
a result of going beyond my comfort zone, I was able to apply all the knowledge
gained from the MDE program and fulfill two requirements; create an e-portfolio
and the capstone.
